Wendy W.Y. Yung

Wendy Yung is an advocate for good corporate governance in Hong Kong. Prior to founding “Practising Governance” for this cause, Wendy was Executive Director and Company Secretary of Hysan Development Company Limited, and played a key role in developing and implementing its well-recognized corporate governance practices. Over the years, her responsibilities have spanned human resources, corporate communications, as well as commercial operations.

Wendy is a member of the Securities and Futures Appeal Panel, Standing Committee on Company Law Reform, and a co-opted member of the Audit and Risk Committee of the Hospital Authority. She is also a member of the Professional Accountants in Business Committee of the International Federation of Accountants, whose focus areas include governance, risks, and sustainability. She served as a member of the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in 2014 to July 2016.

First trained as a solicitor, Wendy also qualified as a certified public accountant and a chartered secretary in Hong Kong. She is a co-opted council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and a council member of the Hong Kong Institute of Chartered Secretaries respectively. She graduated with First Class Honours in Law from Oxford University, United Kingdom.

Prior to joining McKinsey, Winston was CFO of HTC and Shin Kong Financial Holding and has extensive experience as senior executive. Mr. Yung was elected “Best CFO” in Institutional Investor in 2011.

Mr. Kevin Chan is a founder and treasurer of Concentric Education Foundation (Hong Kong). In this role, Mr. Chan oversees overall financial management and investments for the Foundation.

As an investment analyst with more than 20 years' experience, he was previously Senior Advisor (Banking) of KPMG China, Head of Hong Kong and China Financial Research at CLSA Limited and before that held a similar position at Nomura International (HK) Limited, ING Barings, Citigroup and HSBC Asset Management. He currently serves as a member of the Listing Committee of the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. He is also a member of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Guangxi Committee, an Honorary Director of the Y Elites Association. Mr. Chan received a Master’s degree and Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science of University of London, UK.

Mark Johnson

Mark Johnson is a partner in the firm’s Hong Kong office and a member of the International Dispute Resolution Group. His practice focuses on white collar/regulatory defense matters, cybersecurity matters and commercial litigation in Hong Kong and across Asia.

Mr. Johnson joined Debevoise in March 2015. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Johnson was a partner at a leading international firm in Hong Kong, where he oversaw the opening of the firm’s disputes practices in Singapore, Jakarta, Bangkok, Beijing, Seoul, Shanghai and Tokyo.

For more than 25 years in the region, Mr. Johnson has built a successful practice advising on shareholders’ and directors’ disputes, internal and regulatory investigations, commercial litigation and inquiries from a range of regulatory bodies, both in Asia and elsewhere. These include matters involving the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and the Independent Commission Against Corruption. Much of his work is in the financial services and private wealth sectors.

Mr. Johnson has become one of the Asia’s most respected and experienced litigators. Chambers Asia Pacific (2016) ranks him as a Band1 lawyer in China for litigation and financial services: contentious regulatory matters. The Legal 500 (2016) lists Mr. Johnson as a leading individual for dispute resolution and regulatory work in Hong Kong. He is ranked in Band 1 for Dispute Resolution in Chambers Global (2016), which states that he “continues to be a leading name in commercial litigation and contentious regulatory work in Hong Kong and the wider region,” while Legal 500 Asia Pacific labels him an “Asia disputes doyen”.

Mr. Johnson's recent publications include “Singapore’s Chief Justice Clarifies Sentencing Guidelines For Private Sector Bribery,” Global Investigations Review (May, 2015).

Mr. Johnson holds a law degree from Bristol University. He is admitted to practice as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England & Wales.

Mr. Thomas Pang is the chief financial officer of Pacific Online Limited and its subsidiaries. He is responsible for all financial, accounting, investment and corporate finance matters of the Group. He has over 30 years of experience in the areas of capital markets, accounting and finance, investment and corporate management covering a number of industrial sectors such as real estate, oil and gas, financial advisory, investment management and securities market regulation. Prior to joining the group, Mr. Pang held senior positions in a number of Hong Kong listed companies as well as investment funds, including as Director of Finance, Link Asset Management Limited.

He was admitted as a Chartered Accountant in England and Wales in 1988 while working in the London office of a big 4 accounting firm. He is a member of Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants with exposure in the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Mainland China and Dubai. Mr. Pang holds a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford, England and a Master’s degree from the International School of Advanced Studies, University of Trieste, Italy.

Flora Wang, CFA, Vice President, is part of the Investment Stewardship team for the Asia Pacific Region and is based in Hong Kong.

Flora is responsible for BlackRock’s proxy voting activities in the North Asian region. She manages BlackRock’s corporate engagement activities in the region, engaging with companies on governance, social, ethical and environmental issues and contributes to the development of BlackRock’s corporate governance policies. Flora joined BlackRock as an Associate in April 2014. Previously Flora was the head of China and Taiwan Research at ISS Governance in Singapore for over four years.

Flora holds a B.A Finance from Tsinghua University in Beijing and MSc Finance from Singapore Management University. Her post-graduate study focused on corporate governance.
